A new podcast, Crossing the Last Mile, from UNAIDS East and Southern Africa, produced under the 2gether 4 SRHR partnership, is now available on all streaming platforms!
Hosted by Anne Githuku Shongwe, UNAIDS Regional Director for East and Southern Africa, Crossing the Last Mile, takes listeners into the heart of the HIV response across the region. The series brings human stories, sharp insights and bold ideas from the people transforming HIV, health and rights.
After a year of major disruption to the HIV response, the podcast arrives at a critical moment. As the world marked World AIDS Day 2025 with a focus on overcoming disruption and transforming the AIDS response, Crossing the Last Mile offers a timely space for reflection and action. It asks where the response stands today, and the lessons that will help us transform it to cross the last mile to ending AIDS as a public health threat.
Each episode opens up honest conversations with community leaders, activists, policymakers and innovators who are safeguarding progress and driving change. Their lived experiences reveal how communities, solidarity and leadership continue to push the response forward.
