Fresh Insights - Girls Are In Action: building safety, skills and futures in crisis

What does it take to help adolescent girls stay safe, healthy and in school when conflict has upended their lives? This Fresh Insights session looks at the Girls Are in Action (GAIA) Toolkit, a field-tested resource developed for girls aged 12–17 in displaced and conflict-affected communities.
We walk through how it brings together life skills and psychosocial support to build confidence, tackle gender-based violence and child marriage, and strengthen sexual and reproductive health knowledge, as well as financial literacy.
We also look at its "whole community" approach, which brings mothers, caregivers, fathers, husbands and boys into the picture so that protecting girls becomes a shared responsibility.
